When it comes to breaking records, Jake Scrace isn’t just aiming high—he’s literally soaring above it all! This brave kite-surfer recently made history by reaching an astonishing height of 1,587 feet above the iconic Isle of Wight, smashing the previous record by almost 700 feet. Towed by a para-motor before cutting loose, Jake showcased an incredible blend of skill, courage, and maybe just a hint of flying ambition. I mean, who needs planes when you can catch a wicked breeze on a kite?

Jake’s jaw-dropping stunt didn’t just impress onlookers; it involved a dedicated crew of 30 professionals including safety divers and camera specialists, proving that teamwork makes the dream work—even when that dream involves gliding free through the skies. After all, it takes a village to push someone up high enough to take a selfie with the clouds! Jake described the sense of freedom he felt as “incredible,” which leaves us wondering—was he super high up, or just high on life?

As it turns out, this passion project was sponsored by Gleeds to mark their 150th anniversary, because reaching for the sky definitely beats throwing a garden party! With the 70th anniversary of Guinness World Records happening this year, it seems that both humans and landmarks are proving they can still surprise us. Next time someone clears their throat or adjusts their seatbelt before a flight, let’s remember—sometimes you’ve just got to cut loose and see where the wind takes you!
